We aim to realize "Vision 2050: Japan Shines, Forest Circular Economy" promoted by the Platinum Forest Industry Initiative. We will disseminate ideas and initiatives to promote biomass chemistry, realize woody and lumbery communities, and encourage innovation in the forestry industry in order to fully utilize forest resources to decarbonize the economy, strengthen economic security, and create local communities.

Nature Planner Japan, a general incorporated foundation that fosters and supports "nature planners," entrepreneurial human resources who work with nature to create new value, was established by a joint initiative of five individuals from NPOs, universities, and other organizations. This is a major step toward the realization of "Nature Positive," which aims to restore biodiversity by increasing the number of people who can breathe new life into society and the economy.

The promoters included the non-profit organization Ethic, the A-Zero Group, the Akira Mori Laboratory of the University of Tokyo's Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, Fisherman Japan, and Masamine Fukao, Vice President of Ryukoku University.

The foundation was created to serve as a platform to address issues such as the lack of investment in the movement to protect and utilize natural capital, the thin connection among players, and the shortage of entrepreneurs and researchers. The foundation's mission is "to make nature planners the main actors of the economy," and its main activities are grants, co-creation with partners, and social communications.

The realization of "nature positivity," which aims to halt the loss of biodiversity and help it recover, is now a global trend. As this trend gains momentum in Japan, it is expected that the Foundation's activities will greatly expand the opportunities for nature planners to play an active role.
